- Check the manual valves such as the Push Button Flame Sensing (FPPK) to ensure they can move smoothly and engage the pilot position properly. If you have an FPPK unit, remember to replace the AA battery for the spark igniter. To do this, rotate the button counterclockwise until it's removed and you can access the battery.

How to Start HPC Fire Pit

If you have a Match Lit unit, make sure the gas line service valve is open, insert the key for the valve properly, and light your wand lighter. Hold the wand lighter over the burner while slowly opening the key valve with your other hand.
For a Push Button Flame Sensing or FPPK unit, make sure the service valve is open. Turn the valve knob to the pilot position and push it in to allow gas to flow to the pilot head. While holding the valve knob in, press the spark igniter button to provide a spark at the pilot head. Once the pilot flame ignites, release the HPC fire pit igniter button and wait for the thermocouple to warm up for about 10-15 seconds. Release the valve control knob to keep the pilot flame lit, and then turn the knob counterclockwise to light the burner.
If you have an Electronic Ignition, simply turn on the wall switch or use the HPC fire pit remote or HPC fire app on your smartphone to ignite the fire pit. Once your fire pit is up and running, allow it to run for around 45 minutes to make sure that the flame height and pattern are consistent.
