Because this table is made of solid hardwood, proper airflow beneath the cooker is essential. When installing the Large EGG:
- Always use a Table Nest
- Do not place the EGG directly on the wood
- Maintain an airflow gap beneath the cooker
For added protection during long cooks or high temperatures, placing a granite tile beneath the Table Nest is recommended. Periodically inspect the area under the EGG to monitor heat impact over time.
