There is a flame sensing system that automatically shuts the gas valve if the flames get turned off.

There is a sidewall that aids with media retention, Pan Lip provides for the recessed burner and blowout box

Fully Assembled- ready to install. Control components are protected within the valve box.
Start via wall switch or remote control; Auto re-light if the flame is lost.
Ignition is complete using a robust and reliable Hot Surface igniter
On/Off models: Use with optional wall switch, Remote Control, or your whole house system
High/Low Flame Control Models: Adjust high setting to low setting- ~45% turndown (Remote Control included). Not for use with your whole house system.
120vac: Standard outdoor grounded power cord- simply plug into GFCI outlet.

Beautiful Mantel

The mantel required a little bit of sanding and prep before painting, but was good quality. Flame Authority did an excellent job shipping and it arrived by freight in perfect condition.

The mantel assembled well. I ended up using some construction adhesive to glue the legs on to make it a little more sturdy. I cut pocket holes in the top to attach it to the wall.
